Caliban’s Dreams

December 9, 2023 By Rose Hope

Costume Designer

Caliban’s Dreams is a contemporary re-telling of The Tempest through the eyes of Caliban. In this production, a band of nomadic performers performed the story nightly. Throughout the show, each person plays multiple parts, sometimes at the same time, often switching roles mid-monologue. The effect is a dream-like and adventure-filled performance.

Southern Oregon University Department of Theatre Arts – Fall 2015
Devised and Directed by James Donlon
Scenic Designer – Cassandra del Nero
Lighting Designer – Noah Beauregard
Sound Designer – Earl Wiscow

Review from PerformingArts.Review:
“Looking at a publicity photograph of Mr. Chaney, out of character and out of costume, I was just stunned, for on stage, in this production, he looked nothing like his off-stage self, a complete transformation.” -Lee Greene
